Several wheelbases, gross vehicle weight configurations, and single- or dual-rear-wheel setups are available, along with prep packages that support motorhome, shuttle, and other specialized applications.

Final body installation, equipment compatibility, and completed-vehicle certification are the responsibility of the upfitter.

Transit Chassis Cab

3.5L PFDi V6

The naturally aspirated 3.5L PFDi V6 is offered across eligible Cargo Van, Passenger Van, Cutaway, and Chassis Cab configurations, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a 250-amp alternator. A straightforward gas option for businesses that don't need the EcoBoost's added output. Availability depends on body, gross vehicle weight, axle, and drivetrain configuration.

3.5L EcoBoost V6

The available 3.5L EcoBoost V6 uses turbocharging and direct injection, offered on eligible Cargo Van, Passenger Van, Cutaway, and Chassis Cab models, and standard on select higher-capacity configurations. For 2026, EcoBoost availability expands to additional low-roof and medium-roof rear-wheel-drive Cargo Vans, and those configurations no longer require the Ambulance Prep Package to select it.

10-Speed Automatic Transmission

All gas-powered Transit models use a 10-speed SelectShift automatic with an auxiliary transmission oil cooler. Available Tow/Haul equipment can further adapt transmission behaviour for trailer and commercial applications.

Rear-Wheel Drive and All-Wheel Drive

Medium Roof adds interior height while staying lower than the full high-roof configuration. Offered on Cargo Van and Passenger Van models with a long body, and medium-roof Cargo Vans can be equipped with available Close Assist, trade packages, bulkheads, and specialized cargo-area equipment.

High Roof provides the most interior height in the enclosed-van lineup. High-roof Cargo Vans come in long and extended lengths, and high-roof Passenger Vans are available in long and extended configurations depending on seating and drivetrain. E-Transit uses a J1772 CCS charge port supporting 120-volt AC, 240-volt AC, compatible DC fast charging, and Level 2 charging at up to 11.2 kW. Cargo Van buyers can choose from several window arrangements, from no rear cargo-area windows up to fixed windows all around the cargo area. Privacy glass is included with select medium-roof and high-roof rear-glass configurations, and available laminated safety glass can be added on compatible medium-roof and high-roof Cargo Vans.

Available bulkheads separate the driver compartment from the cargo area, with designs including a lockable door and window or a fixed window only, depending on roof height. The partition can help cut cargo-area noise and make it easier to heat or cool the front seats.

Load Area Protection Package includes full-height four-millimetre polypropylene cargo panels, vinyl front and rear flooring, and wheel-well liners, built to protect the cargo area during everyday commercial use.

Heavy-Duty Wall Liner Kit steps that up with six-millimetre polypropylene wall protection, insulation behind the liners, a cargo-area headliner, motion-activated cargo lighting, insulated wheel-well covers, and scratch-resistant surfaces.

Heavy-Duty Cargo Flooring uses a composite polyethylene anti-slip surface with heavy-duty steel scuff protection around the rear and side cargo-door openings.

Pro Power Onboard for Gas Transit offers a 400-watt system on compatible gas-powered Cargo Van, Cutaway, and Chassis Cab configurations, intended for smaller corded tools, battery chargers, and mobile electronics. Availability depends on battery, seating, parking-brake, climate-control, and gross vehicle weight configuration.

Parcel Delivery Package is built for frequent-stop commercial routes. For 2026, Ford adds Delivery Assist: when the van is placed in Park, it can automatically close open windows and lock the doors after the driver exits. The package also includes commercial delivery equipment like wider-opening rear doors, depending on the vehicle selected.

Available trailer equipment includes Tow/Haul Mode, trailer wiring provisions, the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package, a Trailer Brake Controller, and an extended-range fuel tank on compatible gas models. Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+ for Cutaway and Chassis Cab

Available on compatible Cutaway and Chassis Cab models, Assist+ adds Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Centering, Predictive Speed Assist, Blind Spot Assist, rear parking equipment, and additional cross-traffic technology. Because the final body can affect sensor placement, some components ship as kits the upfitter installs.
